FOI results start to trickle in... What will we find?

October 13, 2012

After stonewalling a portion of our Freedom of Information requests for the past 4 months, the City has begun releasing some (not all) documentation relating to the Sumas Mountain Environmental Management Plan. This is a considerable battle, and it's nowhere near over.

We have begun sifting through the documents. Much of the material has been "blacked-out" --- ostensibly because it's "non-responsive" or it contains sensitive information relating to privacy or business concerns.

Still, much work has to be done on our part. We'll be going through the reams of paper and posting all relevant material in the days and weeks to come. Stay tuned...

And please... if you haven't already joined the Sumas Mountain Rural Property Owners Association, we ask that you consider doing so (it costs you nothing). Your property rights are being grievously assaulted on several fronts. From the so-called "tree protection" bylaw to the Sumas Mountain Environmental Management Plan to the "streamside protection" bylaw, the City is trying to claim sovereignty over your land and property.

If we aren't vigilant against the gradual erosion of our property rights, the civil government will continue to usurp them. The stakes are high, and we need your help. Please join now.
